Wheeler's Restaurant

What a great experience. I've driven by this restaurant for most of my life and never stopped. Tonight I stopped and I walked in to one of the most quaint restaurants in Standish Michigan. I felt like I was walking back to the time of a diner. I was immediately greeted and told I could sit anywhere. I I chose a table and sat down within seconds by a waitress arrived, Anique. What a fantastic waitress. Polite kind attentive efficient I could go on and on. She recommended the pork chops out of two meals that I had pointed out that I was trying to decide. So I went with her recommendation on the pork chops. Wow those pork chops were probably one of the best meals I've had in quite a while. Pork chops were perfectly cooked juicy on the inside a slight crusty golden brown on the outside. And I honestly will say they were large. I also had a large loaded baked potato and cottage cheese, my choices. The meal was delicious and enjoyable. The cook brought the pork chops meal to me and asked if I would cut into the pork chops to see if they were good, I did and they were perfectly cooked. I am definitely going back to this restaurant to try other foods that they have on the menu. I took pictures and have included them with my posting. The only thing I didn't see was it handicap entrance.. The restaurant was clean orderly well taken care of and well decorated. This is a little gem hidden away in this small town USA. You're missing out if you haven't stopped here. I learned my lesson I need to stop at these little out of the way restaurants more often. I also got an order of many tacos to go and they were just right on taste when I got home.

Excellent food!! Doesn't look like much but a true gem and lots of history behind it. We were on our way back from Mackinaw and needed lunch so searched for restaurant. This one popped up and sounded good so we decided to try it ... we weren't disappointed!!

Omg! Diamond in the rough! In the little town of Standish, right on 23, but a wonderful place to stop. Delicious food, great service, a salad bar like no other and Cops and Doughnuts branch in the restaurant. Donuts were so fresh and amazing! Definitely would recommend everyone to stop by

On our way up north, this was a great spot to stop for lunch!! Easy on and off the freeway, although you have to drive a little but from the freeway. The pancakes were huge and amazing! And they have Cops & Doughnuts!! Atmosphere was also welcoming and nice. Will be back!

Such a cute lil old Diner. Service was outstanding. No Gluten-free breakfast items though, but I made do with what is naturally gf, I had 2 eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, & cranberry juice from the glass bottle named Everfresh. My husband had the omelette with hash browns as well and he enjoyed it and could only eat half of it it is a pretty big portion. Very clean place, but if your a big person you won't be able to fit in restroom stall cause the TP holder sticks out too far with its size & you will be on top of it, let alone knock your elbows into the stall walls pulling up your britches. That restroom was the ONLY bad issue I ran into or noticed. So this is a highly recommended place.

Had a very nice lunch, food was good and service was great. Bought some doughnuts to take home.

Great place to eat and friendly on the wallet. Home made chicken noodle soup is to die for. Staff is always very friendly and they have a 50's jike box you can pick songs from your seat!

Stopped in for the donuts since staying at the casino they did not disappoint. Nice assortment for the price and even included some large bear claw and cinnamon rolls i thought were extra. The breakfast food smelled amazing and staff was friendly would definitely stop in for a meal.
